The surrealist art movement has had a strong influence on my working practice, right from my earliest days as an art student and throughout my working life. Today, the visual language of surrealism can be seen everywhere, especially within the realms of popular culture. The bringing together of unexpected elements to create something new and startling remains an exciting way to work and as such has become one of the defining styles of contemporary illustration.
Below, a selection of images from recent years that have been inspired by that way of seeing.
